If you have had your eye on Home Chef kits for a while but like to try before you buy, we have some great news for you. The popular meal kit service has just announced its food truck tour is set to kick off on March 2, 2019.
According to the words of Home Chef’s representative Maris Callahan, the company’s plan is to organize food truck events in 20 cities nationwide, starting with Chicago. The events will be hosted by the Home Chef culinary team and Julianna Zobrist, singer, author, and the wife of Ben Zobrist, the second baseman for the Cubs team. Here is what is known so far about the tour plan.
Demos, Samples & More
Home Chef food truck events are designed to answer all the questions potential customers may have prior to purchase. With interactive cooking demos and delicious free samples, you get to see what it is like to cook with Home Chef and discover everything about recipe complexity and food quality first-hand. If that is not enough to get you interested, the company promises to organize fun games with tasty prizes, so you can enjoy more than just a pleasant afternoon dedicated to good food.
The first event set for March 2 is taking place at the Mariano’s in Wheaton, Chicago and starts at 1 pm. The next day, the food truck team will be in Hoffman Estates. The day after that (March 4), another event will be held in Arlington Heights.
It is important to note that the goal of the food truck tour is not only to introduce potential patrons to the benefits of cooking with Home Chef. Namely, the company also plans to donate up to 100,000 meals. If you want to do something nice for those in need, you just need to visit one of the Home Chef food truck events, take a photo, and post it on social media with the tag #dinnertonight @realhomechef. For every photo posted between March 1 and August 18, the company will donate 1 meal to Feeding America.
So far, the company has only shared details about the first 3 events. We hope to get more information on the remainder of the tour really soon, so stay tuned for updates and be sure to join in on the fun if you happen to be in Chicago at the beginning of March.
