Albertsons grocery chain acquired Plated in the fall of 2017, but until now, little has been known about its plans regarding the popular meal kit service. Finally, a few days ago, Albertsons announced that it will be making Plated meal kits more widely available. Namely, the plan is to have Plated meal kits sold in hundreds of stores across the country by the end of the year, including Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw’s, Acme, Tom Thumb, Pavilions, Star Market, Randalls, United Supermarkets, and Haggen. Not only that, but the kits will be available for same-day and scheduled home delivery, in-store pickup, and 2-hour delivery via Instacart.
Plated Kits Whenever You Need Them
Plated meal kit service offers flexible subscriptions, allowing you to change the recipes in your box, opt for more or fewer servings, skip a delivery, pause your subscription or cancel whenever you want. However, home cooks who cannot afford to order on a regular basis or simply want to purchase more kits at any time will now be able to have a Plated meal on the table whenever they are craving one.
The selection of kits available at stores will not be wide at first. So far, only 6 kits have been chosen for the launch, including Beef Noodle Bowls with Dinosaur Kale and Mushrooms, Crunchy Chicken Milanese with Honey Mustard and Arugula, Steak Frites with Creamy Shallot Sauce and Sautéed Spinach, Skillet Grandma Pie with Parmesan-Kale Salad, Roasted Chicken au Jus with Orzo and Peas, and Pine-Nut-Crusted Salmon with Creamy Tomato Farro and Roasted Green Beans.
Over time, more kits will be introduced and they will be rotated seasonally. Albertsons’ goal is to offer kits for all tastes at all times and it promises that the standard offer will include beef, chicken, seafood, and vegetarian kits. If you like your meal kits with no strings attached, now you have an easy way to get your hands on Plated’s high-quality kits as often as you please.
